Johanne Riss & Blanche's Dresses for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest

Everything started with the meeting between the fashion designer Johanne Riss and the director Bavo Defurne (North Sea Texas). With his team, they already had pictured what kind of dresses they wanted for Bavo’s next film, Souvenir. In their ideal of glamour, they asked Johanne to design a sequin dress. But, because of her avant-garde mind, Johanne Riss went a step further in the idea of red carpet and sensuality. She designed a golden palms embroidered nude gown. Almost immediately, she gave the design its final touch by adding endless silk chiffons, as Isabelle Huppert had to dance for some scenes. The Souvenir team quickly understood that Johanne should only create the character’s stage costumes on to making the designer’s dresses even more remarkable.

Discover Johanne Riss’ new lookbook inspired by the modern woman. This strong, dynamic, professional, and traveling woman is pictured here in contemporary and timeless clichés.

Symbol of the brand, the orchid is sometimes an accessory as a broche or a ring, but, for her last collection, inspired again by the flower, Johanne transforms her iconic fabric into her own version of lace.

Every now and then, Johanne Riss dresses artists for the Magritte Awards. One of the most Belgian iconic actresses, president of the ceremony, is Yolande Moreau (Seraphine) who was wearing two embroidered Djelaba dresses with tone-on-tone silk ponchos.

"8" the perfume by Johanne Riss. Symbol of infinity, love and good fortune. The number 8 is also matching some of the designer’s key dates: 88 is the year of creation of her first boutique, and the height month of the year is her month of birth. Fragrance of oriental scents, bergamot and lemongrass.

Pure Luxury: fusion of elegance and modernity that translates through the use of precious stones, gold or silver. An avant-garde line that will put the final touch on any Johanne Riss apparels.

Released in October 2010. Johanne Riss surprised us by expressing her timeless style through music. She co-wrote the lyrics and the music with the singer/ author/ composer Sébastien Roch. An EP with 4 songs about tenderness, sensuality, chic and “amour”.

2015, when Johanne Riss moved her headquarters in the Sablon neighbourhood of Brussels, the interior designer Lionel Jadot took over the artistic direction of the new boutique.
